Yes, provided the chain of custody has been documented throughout. If a previous lab handled the device without altering or damaging the memory chip, chip-off forensics can still be performed, and the results can still be court-admissible. We assess the condition of the device and any prior handling records when it arrives. If chain-of-custody documentation from the previous lab is available, bring it with the device, as it strengthens the evidentiary record.
